Triple CD compiled and mixed by David Phillips / PBR Streetgang

Released 4 August on Seamless Recordings

With less than a week to go, the countdown is truly on until the BHS’ very first compilation CD, aptly titled the ‘Boutique Hostal Salinas Ibiza Summer Sessions’ out on the Seamless Recordings label, hits the streets on 4th August.

The three discs of awesomeness, lovingly put together by BHS co-owner and Ibiza resident DJ, David Phillips with a helping hand from PBR Streetgang (aka the very versatile DJ duo Bonar Bradberry and Tom Thorpe- fans, friends and fixtures of the Boutique Hostal Salinas) is a clever combo of down tempo, nu disco and deep house and features tracks from the likes of Goldfrapp, DFA, Pyschemagik, Nancy Wang, Bonar Bradberry, PBR Streetgang, Art of Tones, John Talabot, Prins Thomas and Ewan Pearson.

Aforementioned Phillips, who has also been a We Love…Space DJ for the last 10 years, is grinning with glee at the long awaited arrival of the 3CD saying, “For years and years I’ve seen compilation after compilation come out and wondered why the hell we never brought out our own. Here’s what we hope to be the first of many!”

Responsible for CDs 1&2, Phillips is a master of crossing genres and has never been tagged as a house-only DJ, so his desire to produce a compilation that was both upbeat and danceable without being restricted to house was understandable.

‘Sometimes, I feel like people think that there’s just 2 kinds of Ibiza compilation, either a 4/4 mix or some sort of soundtrack to listen to lying on your back on the beach. I’d like to fill in the gaps there”.

For CD1 then, expect echoes of the BHS’ Lo Cura Lounge daytime vibe with West Coast rock, Weatherall-esque dub techno, 80’s Italo-disco and indefinable indie gems all playing their part. Think lazy afternoons filled with much cherished, lovingly selected and perfectly delivered music.

On CD2 David Phillips presents the sound of Lo Cura Lounge by night, describing it as a chance to ‘get your boogie on’. It represents years of a misspent youth and endless hours spent dancing to the great DJ’s who have passed through the Boutique Hostal Salinas and the Lo Cura Bar, influencing the very essence of both locations.

CD3 is the sound of two guys at the top of their game playing with soul, funk and copious amounts of know-how. We’re talking about the duo that is PBR Streetgang aka Bonar Bradberry and Tom Thorpe, a pair who have released on critically acclaimed labels such as 2020 Vision, Future Boogie, Hot Creations, and Southern Fried Records.

On account of all of the above, it just wouldn’t be right, in the eyes of the Boutique Hostal Salinas Three (Phillips plus partners Duesi Wolfmeir and Anita Dey) not to commemorate such an occasion. To that end, this Sunday 3rd August and the BHS gang shall seize the day and raise glasses to their brand new musical baby, cranking up the volume whilst they do so. Join them from 6pm till, no doubt, very, very late to hear their Ibiza Summer Sessions sound out across Salinas and be in with a chance to take home your copy. Joining Phillips behind the decks, another stalwart of the BHS, Ms. Daisy Heartbreaker plus a very special guest TBA. All things considered, this is one little Lo Cura Lounge get together that really should not be missed.

With July in full swing, it’s a neverending story for our three Musketeers –David Phillips, Duesi Wolfmeir and Anita Dey, masterminds behind Boutique Hostal Salinas, Bar Lo Cura and Lo Cura Lounge at We Love…Space.

Here’s a quick peek at what’s going on over the next days at their various locations…plenty to choose from whether it’s a romantic dinner for two at the Hostal Salinas or a dance to some proper music at Lo Cura, it’s there for the taking….

The Boutique!

The big news of the week at the BHS is the fact that the Boutique now has its own Boutique! Managed by Katy, expect one-off designer pieces including gorgeous kaftans perfect for the beach as well as some rather more unusual items…the gold and silver fingernails spring to mind…

The Restaurant!

The BHS team were delighted this week to see that word on their A la Carte Restaurant had spread far and wide to the Spanish Mainland. Amongst other coverage, a sturdy piece in national paper, Expansion. Proving the power of the press, two local residents came to try the menu with the very newspaper under their arm. Yay!

The BHS A la Carte restaurant is open every day from 2.30pm with a Daily Menu also available for 15€

Once Upon a Time!

Sunday 14th, from 5pm

After the first BRILLIANT edition of Daniela & Luana’s Sunday Market, called Once Upon a Time, part 2 is set to be even bigger and busier. Taking place from 5pm on a Sunday, a variety of stalls selling designer, vintage and reconditioned items at reasonable prices.  Bargains, DJs and Fajitas plus drinks and dancing: Perfect Sunday!

The Dinner Party!

Friday 19th, from 7pm

Literally moving Heaven & Earth to bring you an evening of art, design, sound and performance, Dutch label Coochy Music is also getting involved in this elegant evening out with DJ Sean Maccaff joining B.P and Hermanez to provide the soundtrack…make your reservation to dine with the artists:

More Info:

21st July : Sundays are the new Sundays, did you not know?! 21st July is the next date with disco destiny for the Lo Cura Team and this time round Captain David Phillips is joined in the booth by Amp & Deck, Andy Carroll and Daisy Heartbreaker. Fun pretty much guaranteed.

 LO cura logo

Back up the road in Ibiza Port, and Bar Lo Cura is where you’ll find those in the know hanging out…Open 6 nights a week, with a music policy of ‘as long as it’s good’, here is a bar free of pretension and full of friends…

Friday 12th

After a small sojourn, Lo Cura Darling Daisy Heartbreaker is back for an evening of choice rocktronica and even choicer tequila. Arriba…The kind of night that will most definitely put hairs on your chest.

Saturday 13th

Being Saturday, it’s all about the Pre-Love with a warm up for the monster shindig that is We Love Space On Sunday. DJ SHARMA is in charge of putting on the move-busters plus there’s rumour of a secret special guest who’s so secret we don’t even know who it is…

So, there you go, plenty to see, do, taste, hear between the BHS and Lo Cura…stick your head in, why don’t you, we’d love to see you!

This Wednesday, Ibiza Rocks Opening Party from 7pm with

Coming up in June: Rizzle KicksThe VaccinesBastilleAmplify DotPalma Violets and The Other Tribe

As for Fridays: WE ARE ROCKSTARS!

ZANE LOWEBAAUER & DOORLY share the stage for the W.A.R OPENING PARTY this FRIDAY 7th June

Jake Bugg by la skimal01

Already nominated in the ‘British Breakthrough Act’ category at this year’s Brit Awards, and at only 19 years old, Jake Bugg has already been hailed as the next Bob Dylan although his sound and sentiment are distinctly unique to him and him alone.  Championed by Rocks music director Zane Lowe, Jake played a support slot at Ibiza Rocks last season so it made perfect sense to bring him back to headline this summer. One of the best singer songwriters out there right now, it’s a total pleasure to have him open this 8th season of Ibiza Rocks.  Warming up for Bugg, we welcome new rock sensation Findlay.

Since supporting Dizzee Rascal & The Streets at Ibiza Rocks two years, Rizzle Kicks’ success has gone stratospheric. There’s a mutual love between the Rizzles and the Rocks – they even filmed their video for ‘Dreamers’ at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes last summer. Having hooked up with Norman Cook and Neptunes super producer Pharrell Williams on their forthcoming new album and currently touring the U.S with fellow Rocks headliner Ed Sheeran, Rizzle Kicks will bring BIG things back to the famous open-air Ibiza Rocks stage this summer.

“We can’t wait to play Ibiza Rocks again.  We’ve supported twice so being back to headline is going to huge. The sun is shining and everyone is in holiday mode.  The gigs have a real party atmosphere with people dancing on their bedroom balconies all around the stage.  It’s a pretty unique experience…you really get up close to the fans and we cant wait to get back”

This second gig of the Ibiza Rocks summer also has Amplify Dot on the bill, a talented rapper who first picked up the mic at the age of 13. As always, Ibiza Rocks bringing the very best in new talent to the island, ready for you to discover in the heart of San Antonio.

Since performing at Ibiza Rocks in 2011 just as they released their debut album, London indie-rock outfitThe Vaccines have smashed the live scene, released No.1 follow up album Come of Age and become one of the most sought after bands on the festival scene. Having sold out London’s Alexandra Palace and 02 Arena within 6 months of each other and currently on a sold out European Tour, the guys will be Balearic bound once more for a headline show in Ibiza before continuing stateside where their success has also soared.  Support on this show comes from Palma Violets, who have just completed the NME Awards Tour and are arguably the most hyped band since The Libertines.  A special show guaranteed.

Justin Young, The Vaccines said‘We still have incredibly fond memories of the first time we played Ibiza Rocks. It was so much fun. It was in the middle of our first busy summer playing festivals and the whole thing felt like a holiday. So much so, that we’re coming back. We’re already excited at the prospect.”

Bastille’s just released debut album Bad Blood went straight to the top of the UK album charts, with No.2 single Pompeii taking over the airwaves across Europe. Fronted by UK singer/songwriter Dan Smith, this is a ‘must see’ live act on the festival scene this summer and Ibiza Rocks is delighted to have Bastille on the bill.  Support comes from hotly tipped and indefinable Bristol mob The Other Tribe.  Championed by both indie and electronic music lovers, the band cross musical boundaries and their illustrious new singleSkirts is as infectious as their live set.

Bastille’s Dan Smith saidWe’re really looking forward to getting out to Ibiza for the first time. Being able to play a gig and then go to the beach will be a massive novelty, and it’ll be nice to see a bit of proper summer and try to head to some of the massive clubs as well. I hear the Ibiza Rocks gigs are great and we’ve been told they throw a pretty decent party so it should be a lot of fun.”

The electronic fuelled, DJ led night that sees an incredible mix of the most influential and exciting names in electronic music take over the famous outdoor ‘Rocks’ stage every Friday.

We’re excited to announce that kicking off the first W.A.R! of the summer with a massive headline set will be master of new music, superstar DJ and long-term friend and champion of Ibiza Rocks, Zane Lowe. Together with his partner in crime Mark Ronson, Zane was a huge driving force behind the launch of W.A.R! last year and this June is coming back to kick off another sun-soaked, electric summer.

Joining Zane for a night to remember on the Rocks stage is Philadelphia DJ, Producer and online sensation Baauer. As well as producing remixes for the likes of Nero and The Prodigy, Baauer’s own masterpieces have really made this man stand out.  Criticallly acclaimed single Harlem Shake caused a massive viral explosion resulting in thousands of Youtube uploads per day and a subsequent No.1 US single. Now collaborating with hip-hop superproducer Just Blaze on the massive track Higher, the pair has just completed a joint tour. It will be a big night when Baauer hits up the Balearics for his debut at the W.A.R! Opening Party in June.

Finally (to complete this stellar Opening Party line up) is a man that needs no introduction to the Rocks crowd. After a winter playing the biggest electronic festivals across the world, hosting on Rinse FM and releasing music on Diplo’s Mad Decent label we can confirm that long-time Rocks resident, and now global superstar DJ, Doorly is back in Ibiza this summer and ready for W.A.R! starting with what will surely be an Opening Party set to remember.

All Ibiza Rocks concerts start at 7pm and finish at 11.50pm; all take place in IBIZA ROCKS HOTEL, C/ESTRELLA SAN ANTONIO

Tickets:, Ibiza Rocks shops,  Ibiza Rocks Bar, Ibiza Rocks Diners and in the Ibiza Rocks Hotel

(FIX/IBIZA/22 May 2013): Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes has quickly become THE playground for the new wave of rock and roll elite hitting up the White Isle.  The 25-room boutique haven is home to the bands playing Ibiza Rocks each week and the House party action will get seriously cool this summer as Idris Elba presents 7 Wallace Featuring Driis & Special Guests.

Having completed a sold out 7-week residency at Kilburn club Love & Liquor, with friends such as Seth Troxler and Pete Tong showing up to play impromptu sets, DRIIS is ready to do it all again.  This time, London’s coolest house party is Balearic bound and as the sun goes down, DRIIS will turn up the heat at the House.  The Hackney-born, Hollywood ‘A’ lister is going back to his roots and to his first love, music.  For 7 weeks, every Fridayfrom 12th July – 23rd August, Idris Elba will take the reigns and get behind the decks for a special summer residency at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes.

The hotels exclusive ‘Freddie’s’ suite, famous for hosting Freddie Mercury’s 41st birthday bash, is devilishly decadent and at the heart of Ibiza after-dark activity for those in the know.  It’s here that Idris Elba will set up home and do his ‘7 Wallace’ thing – 7 Fridays, 7 weeks with 7 guest DJ’s, Driis will bring together his love of throwing a great party and bring friends and unannounced names to spin and party alongside him. Expect the unexpected. Anything can happen.

He may be best known for his Golden Globe-winning turn in Luther or as Stringer Bell in The Wire, and he’s playing the title part in the biopic Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, but music is in this man’s heart and seeps through his soul.  Idris Elba is a seasoned recording artist, professional DJ of nearly three decades and a muse and collaborator to everyone from Mumford & Sons to Jay-Z and Usher.

Idris Elba said: “The 7 Wallace parties are intimate and understated. There’s no huge club, just a really cool house party vibe. Ibiza Rocks House is perfect- unique, charming, full of character and seeped in music history. I’ve never experienced anywhere like it. It’s a hidden gem in the hills, a place where magical moments just happen naturally and interesting people are drawn in.  There’s a real fusion between the place, the people and the feeling you get there. Get ready for the ultimate House parties this summer.”

Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes has an even mix of rock stars and guests staying over this season, providing an intimate and unique experience. Ibiza Rocks brings this boutique sanctuary to a new audience seeking a private, prestigious experience from their time on the island. The incredible legacy of Pikes has been fused with the ‘now’ of Ibiza Rocks. The sprawling hotel is situated in the hills and filled with personal touches – antique mirrors and iconic music photography frame rooms seeping with rock and roll heritage whilst playrooms and intimate nooks meet guests at every turn as the heavy breath of hedonism fills the air. The infamous pool that was the location for Wham’s ‘Club Tropicana’ video still remains pride of place.
DRIIS has also been added to the W.A.R! line-up, alongside Example + DJ Wire on July (12,19,26) August (23) and as part of the Rinse FM takeover with Katy B, P Money and Zinc. (09/08).  For tickets go to

Ibiza, Friday 4th June 2012 (FIX Ibiza).- YUP, you heard right. The UK’s biggest Indie clubnight has confirmed its summer residency at Sankeys Ibiza in Platja den Bossa.

Although no strangers to the island, having first brought the Indie brand to Ibiza Rocks in 2009, this season in 2012 in Ibiza sees Propaganda take up their first island residency, firmly installing themselves for ten weeks in Playa den Bossa’s latest success story- Sankeys Ibiza, and cranking up the Indie Machine for their first event on Sunday 8th July right through to 9th September.

Having well and truly staked their claim on the UK club scene and having pioneered the concept of rockstar as DJ to the nation over the last years, the Indie brand now has a presence in twenty-two cities around Britain with some 25,0000 clubbers getting their indie on, up and down the country, on a weekly basis. That’s not to mention their clubnights in Ireland and Australia…

And now,it’s Spain’s turn. Or rather, Ibiza’s turn. The past few years on the White Island have seen a myriad of musical changes take place, and- thank God- it’s no longer all about electronica. Live music, rock music, Indie music, any music; for the times they are a changin’ – and very welcome changes they are, too…

These changes are something that Propaganda’s founder/Resident DJ Dan knows plenty about,  his winning formula to bring the rockstar off the stage and behind the decks putting a whole new slant on the word ‘live’. Propaganda’s line ups are already much applauded for their contemporary Indie musicians but also for the nation’s rising stars of Radio 1, not to mention the World of TV & Culture, presenting each of them in another facet, that of DJ.

This summer  then, the Propaganda Team will be bringing a host of bands and DJs over to the White Isle for a summer of upfront tunes and indie classics, bringing a stellar cast to Ibiza every Sunday night.  From Carl Barat to Snow Patrol, The Enemy to Gavin & Stacey’s Mat Horne, Radio 1’s Greg James and Huw Stephens, all these and more will be stepping up at Sankeys this summer and helping to really change that tune.

As for Dan himself, amongst his many other merits, of which there are many, he has toured as aftershow DJ for Oasis, has played in venues including Wembley Stadium and Cardiff Millenium Stadium, at events such as the Brit Awards and in the presence of artists including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lilt Allen, Courtney Love, Muse, The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, Aerosmith and at festivals such as Reading, V Festival, Oxegen, Bestival, Snowbombing and The Big Chill.

On his brand’s upcoming ten week Ibeefa season, Dan the Man had this to say, “I am really excited to be taking Propaganda to Ibiza weekly for the first time, not only are we bringing our indie club phenomenon to the Island but we’re also bringing our concept of affordable clubbing to the Island with a big guest DJ each week including Radio 1’s Greg James and Snow Patrol.  I’ll also be DJing at a lot of the nights myself and I can not wait to get back to Ibiza as I’ve always loved it”.

Ibiza loves you too, Dan… And as of right now, it loves Propaganda even more…with club entry at only €15, complete with drinks prices at €7 spirit & mixer and €7 beer, as Dan says, that’s “an exceptional night out at an affordable price which is so important to people at the moment”.

Now, that’s what I’d call PROPAGANDA
