(FIX/IBIZA/23 JULY2013): On an island saturated somewhat by sameness, Anthony ANTZ Bryans is a prime player in helping keep the authentic wheels of Balearia turning all over Ibiza, a DJ of such high standing that you may not even have heard of him. This is the man who, in the space of a fortnight, has generated national UK press headlines for getting Prince Harry, Kate Moss and the British Prime MinisterDavid Cameron to throw shapes on the dancefloor, who has been name-checked in the Sunday Times as a key reference in the social calendar of every Sloane Raver, who played a stonking set at the Rolling Stones after-party at Glastonbury and a man who, most of all, is happiest hiding out in his Ibiza abode, making music and loving life.

As one of the instigators of the original house music scene, back in the day, beside the likes of Danny Rampling and Nicky Holloway, Bryans already proved his worth a long time ago. These days, in Ibiza, his reputation as a proper party-starter stands strong. We highly recommend you add one or more of the following happenings to your Ibiza itinerary:

Antz has long since been associated with the venue formerly known as Aura, now SACCA, having held his very successful DJ residency there every Friday since 2005. Now under new management, Antz’ reign continues on the Sant Joan Mile every Thursday through summer, with a number of guest DJS popping in along the way just to add to the melee…

SUNDAY ROAST 2013.06.30 EX

Three years in and Antz is still going strong at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes Hotel, turning every Sunday into a reason to be cheerful with his ‘Play it By Ear’ parties proving the perfect complement to the hotel’s Sunday Roast. With guest DJs including the best of the best in local talent plus a few very special surprise sets along the way.

SUNDAY 28th July : East Coast to East End, Antz’ Guest DJs are Arthur Baker and Patsy Palmer!!!

IN OTHER NEWS, and as per last year, Antz’ formed part of the hand-picked line up of DJs chosen to play at legendary DJ Carl Cox’s recent birthday celebration at Sands Ibiza. Bit of an honour, no matter what way you look at it, more so when we tell you that Antz is also confirmed for Cox’s annual September gathering, also at Sands. The big man summed it up beautifully: “Antz knows his music, works the crowd, plays for the occasion. There is something to be said for us older guys!”

Being the private party DJ of choice both on the island and back on his native turf in the U.K, Antz is continuously booked to play at an infinite number of high society and private parties summer and winter alike, the half of which are so hush-hush we don’t even tell you about them!

But aside from his constant gigging, Bryans has spent the past six months barricaded in his studio, working side by side with respected DJ/producer Anthony Gorry (recently landed from producing the latest No Doubt comeback album). The duo, collectively known as Drop Jackson, are currently putting the finishing touches to their joint EP and amongst other tracks, their remix of the Pet Shop Boys‘Vocal’, has already been approved by the PSB and is due to be unleashed in the Ibiza clubs before summer is out.

Lastly, an update on Antz’s continuous charity work. Ever the philanthropist, most recently, Antz massively stepped up at the 1st Ibiza Charity Polo Cup, as linker and headline DJ at the event, held in June. Organisers Ibiza Delivers handed over a very commendable 8,000€ to the AECC (Spanish Cancer Assoc, Ibiza & Formentera Branch), proceeds of the first such event at the Ibiza Polo Club . A great result for all involved in the event.

Coming up on 1st September, and Antz also stars on the line up at Freddie Rocks Ibiza, an annual event held in aid of The Mercury Phoenix Trust, an organization set up by the remaining members of supergroup Queen, after the passing of the band’s frontman, Freddie Mercury, and raising funds for HIV + AIDS patients. This is the third year that Ibiza Rocks House has hosted this particular charity event, a cause close to their own hearts, Freddie Mercury having played such an important role in Pikes’ history.

As for this week though, we’d like to speculate that our mysterious Man of Music may well be slipping through a back door at St.Mary’s Hospital, summoned by Queenie herself to set the occasion of the Royal Baby Arrival to some sweet, sweet music. For when it comes to Antz these days, nothing, and we mean, nothing would surprise us…

IBIZA DELIVERS reveals total raised for AECC at the recent IBIZA CHARITY POLO CUP

A game of numbers for organisers Ibiza Delivers as more than 500 attendees help raise nearly 8,000€ for the AECC on 8th June

Aside from the polo, a live performance by Gypsy Moreno (Gipsy Kings), a visit from Poppy Delevigne, and DJ Antz on the decks made the day

The family friendly fundraiser promises to return next year

(FIX IBIZA/13th June 2013): After several months spent planning the island’s first Ibiza Charity Polo Cup, organisers Ibiza Delivers are delighted to report that last Saturday’s fundraiser topped all expectations, uniting more than 500 fans of the equestrian sport at the Ibiza Polo Club grounds and raising some 7,911€ for the local cancer association, AECC (Ibiza & Formentera delegation), in the process.

Poppy Delevingne_ICPC

In the front row, familiar faces including international model Poppy Delevigne watched an exciting and hard-fought match between the two teams. Playing for Ibiza Delivers, Anoushka Bahlsen (-1), Jaime Espinosa (1), Alejandro Novillo-Astrada (8), John Ambrogio (8) whilst on the Blue Marlin/Roman Fortunato team, formed by the latter (0), Adriano Agosti (0), Nicolas Roldan (8) and Gaston Laulhe (7) seized victory with a 4-3. Agosti scored twice, as did Anoushka Bahlsen, while Nic Roldan, Gaston Laulhé and Alejandro Novillo Astrada took one apiece.
Novillo Astrada was also rewarded as the best player of the game, whilst Picasso, ridden by Nic Roldan in the 4th chukker, was the best playing pony.

Throughout the day, kids activities kept the younger members of the community entertained and with a picnic, Argentinian BBQ and sushi on offer, it’s fair to say no one went hungry at the event.
Post polo, guests were also thrilled by a live performance from Gipsy Kings’ founding member, Gipsy Moreno and danced the remainder of the night away to reputable island DJ, Antz Bryans, known for his undeniable ability to get any party started- and that he did.

Ibiza Delivers, organisers of the event, is a premium online supermarket & yacht provisioning service delivering to villas, yachts & events on the island. Company director, David Max, had this to say on the outcome of the charity fundraiser: “We want to thank everybody who has made the inaugural edition of The Ibiza Charity Polo Cup possible; to all our partners and event organizers who volunteering their time, energy and equipment free or at minimum costs with the sole aim of raising funds for, in this case, the Ibiza & Formentera delegation of the AECC.”

(FIX/IBIZA/30TH MAY 2013): With summer lurking somewhere around here and Ibiza officially ‘open’, Ibiza resident, charity worker and all round good guy, Anthony ‘Antz’ Bryans, is a DJ who’s been popping up all over the place doing his bit to help from behind the scenes and not to mention, from behind the decks.

This week, Antz was reunited with Vice President of the Ibiza & Formentera delegation of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), Sue Mari, for the handover of monies raised at Hidden Bar’s recent Easter Fayre/AECC fundraiser, co-organised with Hidden’s owners Amanda Blanch and Chris Edwardes as well as local promoter Mitch Clark. A total of 1,215€ was raised at the event which took place at Cala San Vicente’s coolest little wonderland, Hidden, some weeks ago. Organisers thanked everyone involved in making the Easter Fayre such a success and promised news of further fundraisers in the near future. Asked to comment on the latest donation, Sue Mari said, “The local cancer association, AECC, is delighted with the response from foreign residents on the island to help raise funds that enable us to carry out our work helping cancer patients in Ibiza and Formentera. On behalf of the AECC, we’d like to give special thanks to Jill Canney and DJ Antz for setting the wheels in motion.”

Antz’ next collaboration for the AECC takes place on Saturday June 8 at the Ibiza Charity Polo Cup where he’ll be joined by some very special guests; promising to put the party into polo, after a day of tournament and equestrian entertainment in the latest eventl in aid of the AECC. The Ibiza Charity Polo Cup, organised by local company, Ibiza Delivers, and taking place at the Ibiza Polo Club in Sant Joan, plans to raise both funds and awareness for the local cancer organisation and has confirmed the presence of international players Andrew Hine, Nic Roldan, Jaime Espinosa de los Monteros and Anoushka Bahlsen at the Ibiza Polo Club for the fundraiser. Models Poppy and sister Cara Delevingne are amongst the familiar faces confirmed to attend this first initiative from Ibiza Delivers in the raising of funds for local cancer patients.

Bryans also recently played his role- and his best records- at the Teenage Cancer Trust’s Contemporary Art Auction in London on 15 May, alongside fellow collaborators, Groove Armada with guests that included art lovers Bobby Gillespie & Katy England, Jude Law, Richard Bacon, Tom Parker Bowles, Sean Pertwee, Charlotte Tilbury, Ruth Wilson, Lara Bohinc, Nancy Dell’Olio, Nicholas Kirkwood, Willa Keswick, Amber Jackson, Jeff Wootton, Dan Macmillan, packed into the Groucho Club to help raise a grand total of £100,000 for the charity, The auction was a warm up for the Ibiza Summer Party in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

And finally, last Sunday 26th May and Antz’ weekly Sunday residency, ‘Play It By Ear’ welcomed the ‘Get Tested’organization to Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes, where amongst other efforts, a select number of art pieces donated by Urban In Ibiza’s Paul ‘Dizzi Saunders’ went under the hammer for the Hep C Trust. A total of 3000€ was raised for the charity on the day.

Back to this weekend, Saturday 1 and our Anthony is back up at Hidden to ceremoniously open their doors for the summer season, in a party that promises to live up to Hidden’s fast going reputation as being the best destination venue in San Vicente. Open midday till midnight, Antz on the decks, amazing cocktails, delicious food, kids’ area and crazy golf all happening just 50ms from the seashore.

And that’s not even the start of it for this DJ’s summer schedule. More updates coming soon on where to catch Anthony Antz Bryans- so good they named him twice…

The 1st Ibiza Charity Polo Cup in aid of AECC takes place on Saturday June 8th at the Ibiza Polo Club

Professionals confirmed to play include Andrew Hine, Nic Roldan, Jaime Espinosa de los Monteros and Anoushka Bahlsen

Aside from the tournament, activities include kids’ entertainment, an Argentine barbecue and a luxury charity auction

(FIX/IBIZA/27May2013): Ranked in The Sunday Times Top 50 events of summer, the first edition of The Ibiza Charity Polo Cup is the sporting spectacle that’s shaping up to set a new standard in Ibiza fundraisers. Organised in aid of the Ibiza & Formentera delegation of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, AECC, the event is confirmed to take place on Saturday 8th June from 17.00hrs in the Ibiza Polo Club, Sant Joan.

Local company Ibiza Delivers, organisers of the event, have been working steadily to put together a programme of activities both on and off the field; the aim of the day being to raise both funds and awareness for the local branch of the national cancer association.

nic roldan_credit Chiung-Kai_pq

As for players taking place in the tournament, Ibiza Delivers’ Director, David Max, has enlisted the help of professionals including ex-England Polo Captain and a man with over 20 years experience in his game, Andrew Hine as well as Nic Roldan– a glittering reference both in the polo and modelling worlds, Alejandro Novillo Astrada, another champion belonging to one of iconic families of Argentine polo; not to mention the current president of the Spanish Federation of Polo, Jaime Espinosa de los Monteros. Other players confirmed on the day are Carlos Grasida (legend of the game, 10 goal player) and Gaston Laulhe (international winner in England, Dubai, St Moritz…) and Anoushka Bahlsen, heiress to the German sweet cake empire of the same name, is amongst the female players lined up.

On the other side of the fence, models Poppy and sister Cara Delevingne – hailed as the new Kate Moss and the current face of Burberrys– will be joined by a host of other well known faces from the sporting, fashion, music and media worlds, all in support of the fundraising efforts of Ibiza Delivers for the AECC.

Throughout the day, a picnic, barbecue, Serrano and sushi bar will keep hunger at bay and for the children, entertainment from Cachirulo amongst other activities. Post tournament, it’s the charity auction with a select number of luxury lots up for bidding. To date, donations include villa holidays from International Villas; a home treatment package from Ibiza Retreats, a Private Dining experience with a top chef and bar service for 14 people thanks to Ibiza Delivers & The Bar, two nights in Atzaró with spa session and a beautiful Jaeger-LeCoultre timepiece among many others.

The Ibiza Polo Club itself, opened in 2011, is situated in the heart of Sant Joan, in the north of the island of Ibiza and has already played host to a number of polo matches in its short history.

The idea of holding Ibiza Charity Polo Cup for the AECC came about partly as a result of previous collaborations between the Spanish Cancer Association and island resident and renowned DJ Anthony ‘Antz’ Bryans, who will be taking charge of the music at the event with the help of his very special guests TBC. Bryans, himself a cancer survivor, works continuously for both the AECC and Teenage Cancer Trust, playing a key role in a variety of other events for both organisations, both on and off the island. Also confirmed to perform at the event is Gipsy Moreno, ex-member of the legendary group of musicians, the Gipsy Kings, famed for bringing ‘Rumba Catalana’ to the masses.

From David Max’s point of view, “The Ibiza Charity Polo Cup is an event designed exclusively to help the Ibiza & Formentera delegation of the Spanish Association Against Cancer. All members and organizers are volunteering their time, energy and equipment free or at minimal costs because our inspiration is simply to donate as much money as possible to the Ibiza Association for its oncology patients. our intention is to re-set the clock in terms of how events on the island raise money for charities.”

Sue Mari, Vice President of the AECC Ibiza & Formentera said that the organisation was “once again delighted with local efforts to raise much needed funds for the island’s oncology patients. Thanks to Ibiza Delivers for their brilliant and original initiative and of course, as always to Antz for getting the ball rolling!”

Ibiza Delivers would like to thank the event’s sponsors, Blue Marlin & Roman Fortunato and also Babylon Beach and Ibiza Marina , sponsors of the event’s private tents and its collaborators:

(FIX IBIZA/25th MARCH 2013): DJ, music producer, fundraiser and, in a recent revelation, golfer, Ibiza resident Anthony Bryans- ANTZ– is a man with very many talents. In the latest of a long list of his moves and shakes, the London born DJ is once again behind the fundraiser for the local branch of the Spanish Cancer Association (AECC), flying in from Miami especially for the event at Hidden Bar, Ibiza, on Saturday 30th March 2013.

In a winter that has seen Antz mostly locked in a studio ear-deep in a very special music collaboration in full swing (more details soon…), Bryans has also been involved in raising the profile of the AECC through his continuing voluntary work with the association, in the form of a number of fundraising initiatives including this, the Easter Fayre in Cala San Vicente, from 12pm-6pm.

Flying straight in from his visit to Miami, where his activities included a few rounds of golf with former racing driver and founder and owner of Jordan Grand Prix, Eddie Jordan, in a game organised by no less than World Number One and a two-time major champion golfer, Rory McIlroy MBE, Antz decided to put the golf clubs down, leave the Miami Music Conference to its own devices and fly back in order to be present at the event at Hidden, arriving back on the island just in the nick of time to DJ at the Easter Fayre.

Antz, who himself kicked cancer firmly to the kerb several years ago, first became involved with raising awareness of the local AECC association a year ago, through a meeting arranged by FIX Ibiza’s Jillian Canney with the Ibiza & Formentera branch of the AECC’s Vice-President Sue Mari. Since then, momentus has grown with other future efforts for the AECC including the upcoming 1st Ibiza Charity Polo Cup organised by local company, Ibiza Delivers.

The 2nd AECC fundraiser at Hidden Bar, Ibiza – An Afternoon of Fun, Fundraising and Cocktails.

‘Hidden’– literally, in the bay of Cala San Vicente– is the perfect location for a fundraiser of this nature. Evoking memories of Alice in Wonderland’s charming quaint dreamland, weathered bunting and china cups amongst the giant chess pieces and crazy golf course, organisers plan an Easter Fayre with definite references to the ideas and ideals of a good old traditional Easter Fayre.

Bring and Buy stalls, Arts & Crafts, Raffle, Tombola, Crazy Golf, Easter Egg hunt, Easter Bonnet competition, face-painting- just some of the activities in store on Easter Saturday,

Other Easter treats include Hot Cross buns and Easter cakes, plus a selection of cocktails from acclaimed mixologist Chris Edwardes.

In the kitchen: Michael Arthur and Pedro Cervero.

Providing the Music:

Ibiza Resident DJ, Music Producer and AECC volunteer Anthony Bryans, has long since been renowned as the man people go to when they want to get a real party started. Resident at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes and Aura, ANTZ also plays at innumerous private parties on island and internationally and alongside the likes of Carl Cox and Groove Armada. His eclectic mixes of house, disco and classics of all shapes and sizes, perfect dancing fodder for your feet.

Scott Gray (UK/Ibiza):

Is an Ibiza based DJ from London. His style is best described as all things funky, including soul, reggae and old school hip-hop. Scott regularly provides the beach sounds at Sands, the sunset sets at La Sal, cool chilled vibes at Hidden as well as private parties all over the Island.

(FIX//Ibiza, 24th January, 2013)

It may be cold outside but we are feeling rather warm and fuzzy after a meeting today between the AECC and the kind folks behind the Hidden Treasures Christmas Fair resulted in a donation of 775€ being handed over to the Spanish Cancer Association, proceeds of the fundraiser held on December 15th, 2012.

President and Vice-President Lali Costa and Sue Mari were present for the handover of the cheque from Hidden Bar’s owners and co-organisers of the event, Amanda Blanch + Chris Edwardes. Also at the presentation, FIX Ibiza’s own Jillian Canney representing both her PR agency and its client, local DJ and fellow AECC volunteer, Antz Bryans, all of whom also played important roles in the success of the Christmas charity fundraiser.

The AECC said they were ‘once again delighted with the efforts of Antz and his team players in drawing awareness to the Association and it’s cause’, which helps provide much needed care for cancer patients in the Pitiusas.

Spurred on by the success, another event is being planned for Easter at HIDDEN BAR in Cala San Vicente, with details being confirmed at time of going to press. One thing is for sure, thought, Antz will once again be giving it his all as far as the music is concerned at the Easter Eggstravaganza and if it’s anything like the last one, expect a great day out for the young and the not-so-young, all in the name of a great cause.

In other Antz news:

This Saturday 26th and time for Antz to get all Sexy n Chic again, with the DJ back behind the decks of S n C island promoter, Jonathan Roi’s latest gathering, Mood Up, being held at Sirocco Beach Club, Playa den Bossa. Get there early (from 10pm) for a sushi feed on the house! Oh! And girls, heads up…don’t wear stilettoes if you’re planning to boogie the night away (which goes without saying when Antz gets on) – that decking floor can be treacherous…

(FIX IBIZA/5 Dec 2012/IBIZA):

In a meeting this week with the Spanish Cancer Association, the AECC, Ibiza DJ and all round good guy, ANTZ, confirmed that he would continue in his efforts to bring awareness to the association, the cause and those affected by cancer in the Pitiusas.

As a next step in his voluntary quest, plans have been announced for the well-known DJ’s involvement in the ‘Hidden: Treasures’ Christmas Fair in Cala San Vicente, in the north of the island of Ibiza.

The fair, organised by HIDDEN’s owners, Amanda Blanch and Chris Edwardes, will take place on Saturday 15th December, 12pm – 6pm, with a combination of a Christmas market, food and drinks, an appearance from Santa Claus and music provided by DJs Antz and Soundman Scott amongst the many plans being finalized.

As well as having an AECC information stand at the fair, fundraising efforts will include a raffle, tombola, charity cocktail and 1€ entry fee to the Christmas Fete, all proceeds to be directed to the Cancer Association.

Talking of his volunteer work with the Ibiza & Formentera branch of the AECC, Antz said, “I got cancer 15 years ago, totally out of the blue, and it’s easy to forget how hard it was and the help that you need. Everyone I know is affected in some way by the disease and people are terrified of it. The point is for people to start to be more aware of it and to give whatever they can.”

Antz, real name Anthony Bryans, recently played an intrinsic role in the fusing of collaboration earlier this year between the AECC, the Teenage Cancer Trust and London members’ club, the Groucho. His efforts resulted in the recent presentation to the local cancer association by both parties of 8000€.

Aside from his volunteer efforts, the DJ has a busy month ahead with a number of dates confirmed in his old stomping ground of London, including Slush on 1st Dec, Shoom’s 25th Anniversary on 8th and his own Electric Santa on 22nd December before flying back to Ibiza just in time to get the party started at AURA on New Years Eve.

(10th Nov 2012//FIX/IBIZA):

The Ibiza & Formentera Branch of the Spanish Cancer Association, AECC, announced this week that they have received a donation from the Teenage Cancer Trust and London’s private members club, Groucho Club, with a total of 8,000€ handed over by TCT patron, Darren Strowger, in a meeting on the island some days ago.

The donation comes as a result of funds raised at the second annual Ibiza Summer Party in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust and the Ibiza and Formentera branch of the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer (AECC) held on Thursday16th August 2012 at local San Antonio agroturismo hotspot, S’Atalaya.

A host of charitable celebrity guests including Mario Testino, Alice Temperley, Jade Jagger, Matthew Freud, Elizabeth Murdoch and Pete Tong gathered for the event and the sell out crowd watched kings of electronica Groove Armada and vocalist Neneh Cherry play alongside Jackson Scott’s band Mano de Dios as well as island resident DJ Antz aka Anthony Bryans , who also helped mastermind the collaboration between the Groucho, TCT and AECC.

Organised for the second year by Strowger, the Ibiza Summer Party was also the opening party for Groucho’s pop-up club which resided for twelve days in the breathtaking Sa Talaia Boutique Villa from 16 – 28 August 2012.

Furthermore, and following the exclusive TCT party, Groucho Ibiza hosted an array of special events in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust and AECC, amongst them a dinner on 18th August. The subsequent events included exclusive sets from William Orbit, Rumer and 2manyDJs whilst culinary heroes including Tom Parker Bowles, Fergus & Margot Henderson and Mitch Tonks hosted club dinners.

Darren and the Groucho were delighted to be able to present the AECC with the cheque for €8,000 in order that the association continue their unending work supporting cancer patients and their families in the Pitiusas.

Joining Forces

Sue Mari, Vice-President of the AECC is over the moon with the donation and had this to say on the welcome news:

“We are very happy with the outcome of the collaboration with Antz, the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Groucho Club and very grateful that they considered raising funds for the association.

In Ibiza and Formentera there are an increasing number of cancer patients who need our help and the funds raised will enable us to meet their specific needs. Thanks to FIX Ibiza and Antz for their role in bringing everybody involved together.

We look forward to nurturing our relationship with both the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Groucho Club over the coming months.”

The Ibiza Summer party will be coming back for the 3rd year in 2013, again in support of both Teenage Cancer Trust and AECC; both dates are yet to be confirmed along with the venue for the event.

The Teenage Cancer Trust

Every day, six young people in the UK are told they have cancer. Usually placed on a children’s ward or with elderly patients, young people often feel extremely isolated when facing a cancer diagnosis, never meeting another young person going through the same thing. Teenage Cancer Trust believes teenagers shouldn’t stop being teenagers because they have cancer. So the charity fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals that allow young people to be treated together with others their own age, in an environment suited to their needs.

Teenage Cancer Trust units aren’t like ordinary cancer wards. Their home-from-home atmosphere helps create a sense of normality and include things like pool tables, jukeboxes, games consoles, computers and webcams, ensuring they can keep in touch with family friends outside hospital. Alongside all of this is a medical team of teenage cancer specialists whose knowledge creates a body of expertise that’s second to none.

The Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer (AECC) (Spanish Association Against Cancer) was founded in 1953 to lead the fight against cancer in Spain. The charity’s Ibiza and Formentera branch has been active since the late 1960s. With the support of three permanent employees, a local committee, medical committee and volunteers they help local cancer patients and their families through their illness by offering counselling, financial assistance and medical equipment. The branch also organises preventative campaigns including breast cancer awareness, colon cancer detection and prevention, anti-smoking campaigns and skin cancer awareness.

About Teenage Cancer Trust:

Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for the six young people aged between 13 and 24 diagnosed with cancer every day. We build specialist units within NHS hospitals bringing young people together to be treated by teenage cancer experts in a place designed just for them. We want every young person with cancer to have access to this specialist support, no matter where they live.

Traditionally treated alongside children or elderly patients at the end of their lives, young people can feel extremely isolated and alone during their treatment, some never meeting another young person with cancer. Being treated alongside others their own age can make a huge difference to their whole experience. We believe young people’s lives shouldn’t stop because they have cancer, so we treat them as young people first, cancer patients second. We exist to ensure they have access to the best possible care and professional support from the point of diagnosis.

We know providing a place that feels more ‘normal’ and less like an institution helps young people cope with the devastation and chaos of cancer and its grueling treatments. Our units are designed to feel like a home from home, where young people will be comfortable. The walls are bright, the furniture is funky, there might be pool tables and a jukebox, and there’s always a place to watch films and surf the net.

We rely solely on donations to fund our vital work. You can help transform the lives of young people with cancer. Visit;<>> to find out how.

About Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer (AECC) (Spanish Association Against Cancer):

The Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer (AECC) (Spanish Association Against Cancer) was founded in 1953 to lead the fight against cancer in Spain; by decreasing the impact of the disease and improving sufferer’s quality of life.

Four strategic pillars guide the activities of the association: information & awareness, cancer patient’s support, research, and advocacy & lobbying. It is a nation wide organisation with 52 provincial delegations and more than 2,000 local delegations. The association counts on more than 109,000 members, 14,000 volunteers and 730 workers to develop its activities.

Cancer patients on Ibiza and Formentera experience very specific obstacles to their treatment, as the islands have no radiotherapy treatment capabilities. Consequently, patients must spend extensive periods of time away from their families on Palma de Mallorca, causing even greater financial and emotional stress than they already face.

The demand for assistance continues to grow, particularly in the light of Spain’s economic crisis, growing unemployment and government funding cuts. The Ibiza and Formentera branch of AECC works tirelessly to raise funds through centrally organised events and contributions from external volunteers and donors.
